Olivier's professional approach is based on three simple principles:
- "To each his own goals."
- "What the student wants to learn is more important than what the teacher wants to teach."

- "To make lasting progress, it's important to understand what you're learning and to be involved in the process and enjoy it. We are not robots."

THE FRENCH GREEN CARD, YOUR LICENSE TO PLAY on French COURSES

The Green Card is to golf what a driver's license is to a motorist.

Holding a FFGOLF Green Card means you possess the necessary skills to play on a golf course without assistance. In practical terms, this means you know how to play correctly, you respect the rules, and you behave appropriately in all circumstances on a golf course.

  • A guarantee of knowledge of the rules and etiquette :

Golf is based on a set of precise rules and a strict code of conduct. The green card certifies that the golfer knows how to behave on a course, manage playing situations, and apply the essential rules. For example, they must know how to lift a ball, deal with obstacles such as bunkers or water hazards, and apply penalties when necessary.

  • A minimum level of play is essential :

On the course, smooth play is crucial to avoid slowing down other players. A beginner golfer without experience might take too long to finish a hole, hindering others and disrupting the flow of the game. Every golfer on the course must possess sufficient technique to play smoothly and efficiently.

  • Independent access to French courses :

Most golf courses in France require players to have this certification before allowing them to book a tee time. Without this proof of competence, access is limited to practice areas such as the driving range.

This document guarantees that the golfer has mastered the basic techniques, understands the rules of the game, and respects other golfers. It opens the door to a freer and more enjoyable golfing experience.

THE GREEN CARD TRANSITION AT CHAMONIX GOLF CLUB

  • You take lessons with one of our pros. Depending on your progress, the pro will offer you the option to purchase the Green Card package at the golf course proshop reception. A current FFG (French Golf Federation) license is required.

  • You have 5 nine-hole rounds to complete, which must be done accompanied by a member of the golf club of a good level who will help you consolidate your knowledge of the rules and etiquette.
Each course must be completed within a set time limit.
Departure times are specific to your smooth integration into the course, and are defined by the golf club when you make your booking request.

  • The final exam: a final round supervised by a member of the sports commission or by your pro allows you to obtain your Green Card, and thus the ability to play independently on the course. A theory test may be administered by your pro during your training or for the final exam.

The right behaviour from the beginning !

After subscribing to your Green Card Package and purchasing the FFG license :

  • You book your tee time for 9 holes at the golf reception.
  • You check in at the golf reception before your scheduled tee time.
  • You follow advices of your guide and the golf staff in all circumstances.
  • You return to reception at the end of the round with your companion to certify that the game went well.
